What is wrong with Liverpool?

The English Premier League may have been suspended temporarily in honor of the late Queen of England, but certain teams will not sleep and would hope the break helps them rejuvenate.

Liverpool has been off-color this season and while many would put that down to injuries, conspiracy theorists are beginning to read unnecessary meanings to their fortunes and you can’t blame them; you don’t set such standards and then collapse horribly like we’re currently seeing.

Napoli mauled the Kops in Naples on Wednesday in the Champions League, Jurgen Klopp’s side are struggling in the league with two more points dropped at Everton last weekend and it’s now important to ask if Liverpool will compete for the title this season or not.

Mohammed Salah has been in indifferent form this term, bringing notions of the new contract and the departure of Sadio Mane; with Darwin Nunez back in contention for selection and goal scoring still a problem, Liverpool will have to dig deep for inspiration.

You don’t visit the buttery at the dead of night and expect premium service, the unusual season will teach lots of lessons and if Liverpool doesn’t bring back their ferocious energy, they might have too much to cover for.

Joe Gomez was a hell of a disaster in Naples and that will continue to be a concern; the dup of Alexander Arnold and Andy Robertson have struggled to impress this term, with them being the major creators in Liverpool’s build up, you can understand where some of the problems lie.

The midfield is horribly depleted. There’s little the young lad Harvey Elliot can do as a placeholder; while the teenage sensation has held his shoulders high, inexperience has shown in the final third a good number of times.

The Queen is gone and we now say God bless the King, what do we say to Liverpool that is ailing on the sick bed with strange illness?
