The Super Eagles of Nigeria will play Algeria twice in an international friendly on Friday, 23rd of September in Nigeria and then away in Algiers on Tuesday 27th September.
The trio of captain Ahmed Musa, Villareal of Spain winger Samuel Chukwueze and Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis have all pulled out of the double header for different reasons but you wonder what Musa is still doing in the national team.
For Emmanuel Dennis, it’s a feeling of déjà vu following his decision to pull out of the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon earlier in the year but he made himself available for the ill-fated World Cup qualifier loss to Ghana.
In camp already ahead of the double header against the former African champions are Taiwo Awoniyi, Cyriel Dessers, Moses Simon, Chidera Ejuke, Maduka Okoye, William Troost-Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo, Chigozie Awaziem, Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey, Zaidu Sanusi and Kevin Akpoguma.
Others are Valentine Ozornwafor, Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi and Terem Moffi. Godwin Savior and Ebube Duru have both been invited to replace the players that opted out and head coach, Jose Peseiro is confident of a strong showing over the two legs.
