It’s crazy how Manchester City continue to get stretched in games this season with the win over Bournemouth the only easy game they have played so far.
The champions fought back to earn a point against Newcastle in game week two and then rallied from two down over the weekend to beat Crystal Palace 4-2 with Erling Braut Haaland netting his first hattrick in the premier league.
Nottingham Forest stood to be counted against Tottenham over the weekend with Dean Henderson diving right to deny Harry Kane from the spot, but he couldn’t stop the England striker from scoring a brace that condemned the new boys to a defeat.
Forest have brought in eighteen players this season and are rumored to be about to land the nineteenth, it’s left to be seen how they bed in the entire lot into the fold but manager Steve Cooper will be the one to nurse the headache.
City will be the clear favorite here but as they have witnessed so far this season, no team is a pushover anymore and they will not underrate the new boys. The champions will decide who joins Haaland in the front three between high flying Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden with Riyad Mahrez primed for a start.
Forest will defend their way to anything they want in this game; Cooper likes to be expressive through his wingbacks – Neco Williams and Harry Tofolo but he can’t be too careful. City will take no prisoners on Wednesday night.
City currently sit second on the log behind Arsenal, they’re not afraid to chase and they also understand the Liverpool are wide awake after a resounding win against Bournemouth. It’s a game the champions should win.
