On today’s transfer gist, Gabriel Jesus’ agent reveals that Chelsea indeed tried to hijack the striker’s move to Arsenal late on but the player would rather work with Mikel Arteta.

However, Chelsea found joy with Raheem Sterling and Khalidou Khoulibaly has also joined from Napoli. The Blues still want Presnel Kimpembe from PSG as well as Nathan Ake from Manchester City but the latter is highly unlikely with Oleg Zinchenko on his way to Arsenal.

Let’s stop by at Old Trafford before we head for the middle of the table. Manchester United have signed Lisandro Martinez and all the shades on social media are about the player’s height; for a center back you need to measure up for aerial balance but United must have something up their sleeves, there’s a reason he was Ajax’ player of the season.

Aston Villa have signed quite a number of players and they didn’t break the bank. Diego Carlos joined, Phillippe Coutinho’s deal was made permanent and Kamara joined for free as well from Ligue 1; Carney Chukwuemeka is asking to leave for game time but as he’s been linked with Arsenal, can it get it there?

Everton survived relegation by the skin of their teeth and you’ll think they’ll be quite busy in the market but as we speak, they haven’t added a single body to a squad that needs strong refreshment. To top that, top scorer from last season Richarlison was sold to Tottenham without replacement, is Lampard playing?

The new boys are trying their best to give themselves a fair chance to survive with Fulham eyeing Arsenal’s Bernd Leno but the Gunners won’t sell him below their own valuation. Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth are the other two and they aren’t exactly quiet in the market as well.

Southampton is a strong candidate for the drop this coming season, you heard it first here and they will have to do more than just vibes to stay up. Joe Aribo is a good addition but that defense needs depth and their forward line needs Armando Broja to return or someone in his mold.

Check on Crystal Palace, they’re doing silent businesses. It’s clear as day that Patrick Vieira would take Connor Galhager back but Chelsea will keep him. The Eagles will rattle a few sides again in the new season, they’re on to watch out for.

Away from England, Barcelona continues to sign players on credit… who does that? Real Madrid won’t bother anymore in the window, they’re ready to defend their titles and Don Carlo knows exactly how to bring the best out of his lads.

In Italy, you wonder the type of relationship they have. Anyone can sign any player from any team; they don’t spend high on transfers and even know how to negotiate long term loan deals, such a poverty league and you see them regressing in Europe too.
