It’s that time of the season where everyone monitors breaking news and player movements, we bring to you the peak of the bunch as team try to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

Nigeria’s Bassey joins Ajax

Rangers FC can confirm that beyond reaching an agreement with Ajax Amsterdam for Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey, the player has left Scotland to join the Dutch side for a fee in the region of €22m.

Ajax is suffering from the annual cherry-picking by top European sides with Manchester United snapping up Lisandro Martinez and also eyeing Antony; Bassey follows the footsteps of Nwankwo Kanu and George Finidi as Nigerians that once played for the club.

United caught in the De Jong conundrum

The situation with Frenkie De Jong hasn’t changed and that is a big worry for Manchester United. The Old Trafford side already agreed fee with Barcelona for the Dutchman but De Jong is being owed deferred wages by the Catalan side and won’t leave without his pay.

Manchester United are unsure of the next thing to do; to move on to another target or wait on De Jong till the very end? Barcelona included De Jong in their pre-season plans and that is another source of worry for Manchester United.

Forest joins chase for Lingard

Jesse Lingard may be a free agent but the former Manchester United midfielder is not in short of demands as premier league new boys, Nottingham Forest throws their hat in the ring for the one-time Westham player.

Speaking of Westham, the Hammers remain optimistic that Lingard will return to the London stadium but nothing is moving yet but we can confirm that Lingard isn’t accepting any offers from the MLS and will rather stay in England.

Guardiola dismisses Neymar rumors

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has dismissed all talks around a potential signing of PSG star Neymar Jr and emphatically shutdown the possibility.

Neymar will stay at PSG and that is final according to PSG sources. Tuesday rumors had news that City are looking at a sensational move for Neymar but Guardiola says it will not happen, not this season, not the next one.

Juventus signs Bremer from Torino

The mass exodus from Juventus always meant there would be a few in-comings and one of those is Torino winger Bremer. The Brazilian impressed last season and has been signed by the former champions for a reported fee of €47m.

Juventus lost Paulo Dybala and Dejan Kulusevski to AS Roma and Tottenham respectively and will need to be busy in the window in the coming days to replace Mathjis De Ligt that was sold to Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
