It’s that time of the season where everyone monitors breaking news and player movements, we bring to you the peak of the bunch as team try to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
Joe Aribo close to Southampton move
Nigerian midfielder Joe Aribo is said to be close to a move to Southampton having caught the eyes of Ralph Hasselheutl with his impressive displays for Rangers in the league as well as in the Europa League where they lost to Frankfurt on penalties.
The Nigerian will cost £6m and is expected to add creativity to the Saints side that labored hard to create anything substantial outside James Ward Prowse last season.
Bergwijn off to Ajax from Spurs
Tottenham Hotspur and Ajax have agreed fees for Dutch international Steve Bergwijn and the transfer is expected to be completed as early as this week.
Bergwijn obviously has become surplus to requirements with the arrivals of Richarlison and Ivan Perisic, Antonio Conte has never been convinced about him despite being instrumental to Spurs in the just concluded season and Ajax will pay a reported fee of £25m for him.
Everton eye a move for Emmanuel Dennis
Another Nigerian is on the move and this time it is Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis who is on the radar of premier league side Everton.
The Toffees have lost Richarlison and are seeking to replace him with the Nigerian striker who set the league ablaze last season with sensational runs. Watford’s relegation means it could just be easy for Everton snap him up and a fee of £20m might just do the trick.
Fulham to sign Pereira, Solomon
Fulham doesn’t want to stand a risk of relegation again and they’re doing all they can to start well with the double swoop of Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira and Shaktar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon.
Manchester United already agreed fees with Fulham for the Portuguese while the Brazilian winger is currently undergoing medicals at the London club. Fulham are known to always return as soon as they get promoted but they’re determined to fight that curse in the new season.
Westham renews Fabianski, targets midfield reinforcements
Lukas Fabianski has extended his Westham contract and will also have an option of another year. One would think the permanent signing of Alphonso Areola from PSG would signal the end of the Pole’s Hammers career but that talk has now been put to rest.
With Chelsea preparing a bid for Declan Rice, Westham are targeting two midfielders to improve the squad ahead of their Europa Conference League campaign and are believed to be interested in James Ward Prowse and Arsenal’s Maintland Niles.
