It’s that time of the season where everyone monitors breaking news and player movements, we bring to you the peak of the bunch as team try to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
Pique to Newcastle?
Xavi Hernandez has asked Gerrard Pique to leave the club as Barcelona cannot afford his wages anymore and it’s looking like the Spaniard will be making a shock move to Newcastle United.
Newcastle are cooking and they can afford anyone who doesn’t mind missing out of European football for one season as they’re confident they will push for elite football in the new season. Pique is a high-profile addition and if that works, Newcastle will never remain the same.
Galtier to replace Pochettino?
Multiple news outlets are reporting that Mauricio Pochettino’s time is done at PSG and his replacement will not be Zinedine Zidane but the highly revered Frenchman Christophe Galtier.
Pochettino landed the league title having lost it to Lille in his debut season as PSG manager but that will never be enough for a club that wants the champions league. Galtier is expected to be announced in the coming days as Poch’s replacement.
Spurs to sign Bissouma and Richarlison
From all indications, Brighton midfield enforcer Yves Bissouma will be plying his trade at Tottenham next season after both clubs agreed to a reported €30m with Antonio Conte aiming for the league title next season after fighting for fourth in the concluded one.
Brazilian star Richarlison is also on his way to Spurs and that would mean there’s a likelihood that Steven Bergwijn will be sold while Dejan Kulusevski’s loan deal from Juventus is expected to be made permanent following a successful spell.
Lukaku doesn’t want to continue in England
Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has told the club he wants to return to Inter Milan and the Serie A runners up have started considering his return but they may have to sell players to be able to afford him with the Blues not willing to listen to loan offer.
Chelsea paid premium to buy Lukaku last summer but he was underwhelming and his numbers didn’t measure up to the huge money the Blues paid for him. Lautaro Martinez might be the collateral damage with clubs seeking his signature.
Sadio Mane agrees terms with Bayern
Bayern Munich are on the verge of signing Sadio Mane from Liverpool after the club agreed terms with the Senegalese and the whole dynamics is now as clear as day.
Robert Lewandowski wants to leave, Liverpool already signed Darwin Nunez to replace Mane and all that is left is for Barcelona to raise the asking price for the Pole and the trilogy is complete. Expect official announcement at the end of the weekend.
