I’m guessing Harry Kane scored a hattrick at the Emirates and that sends Arsenal to the bottom of the log and… Edu Gasper, Arsenal’s football director wakes from his deep sleep, it didn’t happen, it was just a nightmare but not an ordinary one.

Arsenal have been super busy in the transfer window in the last twenty-four hours and that can only be attributed to Edu’s nightmares. Arsenal have signed 22-year-old Portuguese sensation, Fabio Vieira and are poised to agree fee with Manchester City for Gabriel Jesus.

After missing out on Champions League football by just two points, Arsenal knew the failure was down to squad quality and their refusal to reinforce in January and one would have expected them to move swiftly in the current window but now it’s happening.

It was a shocking news on Thursday as most journos didn’t see the news coming but Arsenal have gotten one of the brightest prospects in Portugal, but what does that mean for the likes of Emile Smith-Rowe, Martin Odegaard and Albert Sambi Lokonga?

Odeegard is safe, he is the preferred attacking midfielder and word on the street is that he will be Arsenal’s captain next season. Thomas Partey is the man at the base of the midfield trio, Arteta might be going 4-2-3-1, the imminent arrival of Youri Tielemans would change a lot.

Granit Xhaka is still in the mix, if the Belgian does arrive, Lokonga might be sent on loan and the squad depth might serve Arsenal brilliantly in Europe as well. Mohammed Elneny signed a one-year extension and that could also mean some help in dire days.

Gabriel Jesus will join Arsenal; all indications point to that and Eddy Nketiah stays too. Arsenal needs another striker regardless, one of other profiles and that would enable Gabriel Jesus to switch to the flank, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and ESR are also in the mix.

What happens to Nicolas Pepe? He should be sold. The Ivorian has been underwhelming and you wonder why no one has gone to jail for his transfer. Reis Nelson is back from his successful loan spell at Feyernood, Folarin Balogun is also back from another loan, he should be sent on another.

Arsenal fans can be excited especially if they seal the signings of Gabriel Jesus, Tielemans and the much-touted Bologna right back, Aaron Hickey.
