Former Manchester City and Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero is in talks with the Argentina coaching staff and the football federation for him to join the backroom staff ahead of the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
Aguero announced his retirement from football six weeks after suffering an arrhythmia while playing for Barcelona on the 30th of October 2021, a heart condition that scared everyone as he was wheeled away from the pitch.
"I'm going to Qatar," Aguero told TyC Sports after the meeting.
Aguero has already finalized things with Argentina’s head coach, Lionel Scaloni and would have been one of the first names on the list had he not been ruled out due to a his heart conditions. Aguero won the Copa America last summer with Argentina, ending a 28 year drought and was part of the defeated World Cup finalists at the Maracana Stadium in Brazil in 2014.
