As the January transfer window nears its end, things are happening fast across leagues and we report the peak of the bunch as they happen...

Sevilla signs Martial on loan from United

After what can be called an underwhelming career at Old Trafford, French forward Anthony Martial is finally leaving Manchester to try things out in Spain after Sevilla agreed terms with United for a loan move till the end of the season for Martial.

The move is a dry loan without obligation to buy but it’s safe to say Martial’s Old Trafford career has ended with the club willing to let a few leave in their rebuilding process.

Alvarez to City imminent

The much-touted transfer of Julian Alvarez from River Plate to Manchester City is almost done and you can consider the Argentine a Cityzen in a £17m move.

There’s been stories in the media of arrogance around Pep Guadiola’s decision to walk away from a striker move in the summer, but another Sergio Aguero is about to be unearthed with the imminent arrival of Alvarez to the champions squad.

Newcastle agree terms with Bruno Guimaraes

Right under the noses of Arsenal, yet another long term target is being snatched by another club with news breaking out that Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is on his way to Newcastle after the two clubs agree terms.

As at the time of filing this, the Brazilian who is currently on international break with the Selecao is lined up for medical and he just might be the latest addition to the Newcastle squad as they fight against the drop.

Dusan Vlahovic off to Juventus

Serbia striker Dusan Vlahovic who has been in the news for all the right reasons so far this season has agreed terms with Juventus and will join the Old Lady in a deal worth £65m.

Arsenal have been on the striker for the entirety of the window but the handwriting was very much clear on the wall as the agent and the player weren’t forthcoming.

Juventus will be happy to land their man while Fiorentina would be happy to sell to fund other areas of need with a back up in place.

Eriksen’s return to the Premier League?

Is anyone bothered about the imminent arrival of Christian Eriksen to the premier league? Brentford are at advanced stage with talks with Inter Milan playmaker Eriksen who had a nasty heart disorder at last year’s Euro championship.

While many want to see him play again, lots of people would remember that moment he was lying lifeless on the turf and the panic attack that followed, we don’t want to see that again and we desperately hope he’s fine enough to return.
