Watford vs Liverpool
Vicarage Road
12:30pm

Whew! That was a long one right? Football is back to our screens and we can only toast to it, and what a way to return, Watford introducing their new manager to the Vicarage Stadium crowd and Liverpool trying to get to the top again, this should be fun.

Welcome back and straight away we dive into it, it’s clearly a case of baptism of fire for Claudio Ranieri and he’ll hope fans judge him by the quality of his intentions on Saturday and not by whatever the result is should it go against their wish, which is very likely to be the case.

Liverpool played an entertaining 2-2 draw with Manchester City last time out, while the first half was rather subdued, the second half was more like it and Mohammed Salah’s goal will play in most people’s head beyond this month.

It’s not all good for the Hornets on the log, they wobbled to another loss against Leeds United last time out which was enough for the Bozzo family to conclude that the club isn’t moving in the right direction under the departed Xisco.

Liverpool will sweat on the availability of their South American contingents in Roberto Firminho, Fabinho and Alison with rules around covid limiting them and the time of the fixture will be too soon for them to participate in the game.

Watford will try to contain Liverpool, they will look different with the manager setting up in a way the boys will need to get used to and that will be to the advantage of Liverpool but the visitors must be weary of the abundance of individual talent in the Watford side.

Liverpool is aiming to be one of the teams in the title race when it comes down to the real contenders; dropping points against Watford will dent any type of ambition Liverpool are currently nursing and that should make this an entertaining one.

Watford will impress especially on the break with Emmanuel Denis and Ismaila Sarr will be on hand to pounce on the line should there be an opportunity.

Salah has enjoyed this particular more than anyone else in recent times and this will be really big for millions of fantasy premier league managers that will captain him this weekend. If you care for this, it was Watford that ended Liverpool’s hopes of going a whole season unbeaten in their title winning season

Verdict: Liverpool to win
