Romelu Lukaku scored his first goal for Chelsea - nearly a decade after making his debut - as Thomas Tuchel's side defeated Arsenal deservedly.

Lukaku, who spent his teenage years at Chelsea, began his career at the Emirates following his £97.5 million move from Inter Milan and appears to have added a menacing new dimension to the Blues.

He created havoc for Arsenal throughout the day with his hold-up and link-up play – and the Belgian duly put them ahead.

Lukaku was part of the build-up and then tapped in from close range after Reece James' found him in the box.

James scored the second goal himself, slamming the ball into the roof of the net off Mason Mount's pass to make it two consecutive wins.

Lukaku came close to making it 3-0, but Bernd Leno brilliantly tipped his header over the bar.

New signing Ben white was not in Arsenal's squad due to Covid.

Mikel Arteta's side have already lost more London derbies this season than last - after just two matches.

The gunners have lost their opening two Premier League games only three times in their history.
