Old habits die hard they say right? Jose Mourinho was among the Roma bodies sent off in a fiercely contested friendly against Real Betis on Saturday.
Following Betis’ third goal on the hour mark, the former
Manchester United and Chelsea manager was sent off for storming the pitch to challenge
the referee Jorge Figueroa after what Mourinho tagged “interesting officiating”
Jose Mourinho was appointed as Roma manager in May after
he was fired by Spurs earlier in the year and he has immediately shown part of
what made him the showman everywhere he’s been but being so aggressive in a
friendly game will remain questionable.
Lorenzo Pellegrini received a second yellow card when protesting the
opponent's third goal, while defenders Gianluca Mancini and Rick Karsdorp were
also dismissed after two separate incidents later in the game.
Betis were 3-2
up at the time three players were sent off for the Italian side and then went
on to add two more goals to compound Mourinho’s misery as he ended on the
losing side 5-2.
