Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana is probably out for a long term ahead of the season that is even yet to kick off after what can be called a horror tackle in a friendly match with Villareal on Wednesday.
The 20 year old left the pitch on a stretcher after a rather lengthy treatment at the King Power Stadium after a rash tackle by Nino in the second half of the club friendly game.
While Leicester won the game 3-2, the injury to the Frenchman who was instrumental to Leicester’s success last season ruined the party as his return date to football is unknown at the time of filing this but a scan will reveal extent of damage on Thursday.
Leicester start the season on Sunday with a traditional curtain raiser against Manchester City for the Community Shield, a game between the premier league champions and FA Cup winners – Leicester beat Chelsea to claim the FA Cup title in May.
Goals by Caglar Soyuncu, Harvey Barnes and Ayoze Perez helped Brendan Rodgers’ side past the Yellow Submarines at the KP Stadium on Wednesday.
