Chelsea turn to Kounde

Champions league winners Chelsea have turned their attention to the signing of Sevilla center back Joules Kounde and from all indications, they are going to land him with the Stamford Bridge outfit ready for a convincing bid.

Mamadou Sakho joins Montpellier

Former Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has left premier league club Crystal Palace to join former Ligue 1 champions Montpellier after his Palace contract expired last month.

Patrick Vieira made it clear on his arrival that he will not be renewing the contract of most ageing players as he tries to build the core of his team around youngsters; Sakho spent 5 years at Selhurst Park after a drug abuse case rendered him surplus to requirements at Liverpool.

Alderweireld leaves Spurs for Qatar

Toby Alderweireld has joined Qatari side Al-Duhail SC from Tottenham Hotspur. The Belgian made 235 appearances in his six years at Tottenham having joined from Atletico Madrid in 2015.

Alderweireld was part of the Spurs team that lost the final of the champions league to Liverpool in 2019 and has been solid for the North London side but with his contract winding down, he has now moved to Qatar and it’s left to be seen if that will enhance his chances of making Belgium’s World Cup squad.

United target Trippier and Ndidi

With Raphael Varane almost over the line at Old Trafford, the attention of the Red Devils is now being shifted to a right back cover as well as the holding midfield situation which will see them run after Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as well as 3Lions full back Kieran Trippier.

Atletico Madrid expect Trippier to stay but can he say no to a move to Old Trafford? And right after Odion Ighalo broke Nigerian history at Manchester United, Ndidi could follow him before the current transfer window closes.

Newcastle eye Tuanzebe, Willock

Steve Bruce has said he expects Arsenal to make a decision on the future of Joe Willock who lit up St James’s Park last season on loan from Arsenal.

Willock became the youngest ever player to score in eight consecutive premier league games, he is available for sale but Newcastle can only afford a loan deal, however the Tyneside club also wants Axel Tuanzebe from Manchester United, but the defender will sign a new deal at Old Trafford before being loaned to Newcastle.
