Starting from the 2022/2023 season, Italian Serie A teams will not have the luxury of cladding outfield players in green owing to TV screen clarity, the country’s ruling body has announced.

Teams will now have to combine other dominant colors with Green to avoid confusion going forward, the Lega Serie A published specifications regarding guidelines on uniforms, numbers and colors, this take full effect from next season as most teams would have concluded plans on strips for this new season.

The measure has been taken so there is a contrast when it comes to moving players and the grass. Clubs like Sassuolo that have managed to combine black with their green remain top on the list as one of the teams that necessitated the new order.

Goalkeepers will be able to wear any color to differentiate them from outfield players and referees.
