Hungary keep their hopes alive with stunning 1-1 draw against France as Greizmann's tap-in cancels out Fiona's solo goal (Match Highlights)

Antoine Griezmann scored the equaliser to earn France a point and stopped Hungary from one of the greatest European championship upsets in front of a noisy 60,000 crowd in Budapest.

After a one-two with Roland Sallai, Attila Fiola gave Hungary the lead just before the break, holding off the French defence to slide home.

The Puskas Arena erupted in one of the most raucous celebrations seen in football since March 2020 - or even before then.

Fiola slammed a pitchside reporter's table and knocked stuff off before he and his teammates celebrated with some of the fans in the stands.

Before that goal, world champions France, widely seen as the tournament favourites, had dominated the first half, with Kylian Mbappe in fine form once again.

Les Bleus were not particularly remarkable, however, they rallied in the second half.

First, substitute Ousmane Dembele hit the post, and then Griezmann equalised for Barcelona.

Mbappe raced down the field on Hugo Lloris' tremendous kick before laying it off for Griezmann to tuck in from eight yards with the help of a slight deflection.

Both teams could not find the winner despite the electrifying atmosphere.

Presnel Kimpembe appeared to be fouled in the box by Sallai, but no penalty was awarded, and Raphael Varane headed wide with the final touch.

With four points, France have probably done enough to qualify from Group F - but this is far from certain - while Hungary has kept their qualification chances alive
