It's been a long time since a side coached by Jose Mourinho sits at the top of the premier league, Tottenham Hotspur has a very big chance of leading the pack at least till Leicester play on Sunday.

Tottenham is one of the form teams of the premier league, they bounced back from the defeat on the opening day to Everton and can go top if they beat the Citizens and hope Leicester falters later on Sunday.

Manchester City are still far off but they have what it takes to win the league regardless. A whole lot has happened differently this season and we all can tell that by now, there’s no clear winner by assumption, considering how Liverpool had others on social distancing terms by this time last season.

Last time out, Spurs left it late and it was their talismanic striker, Harry Kane that did what Harry Kane does to hand them a late win at Burnley, Harry Kane has now joined the club 150 and has been involved in 85% of goals scored by Tottenham so far this season.

Manchester City missed the golden opportunity to gain something on Liverpool when they played out a 1-1 draw at the Etihad. Kevin De Bruyne had the chance to win it from the spot but he fluffed his penalty shortly after setting up Gabriel Jesus for the equalizer.

Spurs’ Dutch winger, Bergwijn opened his account in the Premier League with this fixture last season when he chested cleanly in the box before firing past Ederson in Tottenham’s 2-0 win.

That result can be the strength behind Spurs’ leap this weekend and inspire them to another win over a troubled City. The Citizens will be without a few names after Nathan Ake got injured during the international break but Ruben Dias can bring his fine form with La Roja to City’s defense on Saturday.

Manchester City announced on Thursday that Pep Guardiola has extended his contract with the Citizens, this is the first time since Pep was introduced to management by Barcelona in the wake of Frank Rijkaard’s sack in 2007, that he would be at a club for more than three years, he’s in his fifth season in England and he doesn’t want to leave yet.

Verdict: Both teams to score
