The fear of Everton in all honesty, as far as football is the topic, is the beginning of wisdom.

Played three, won three, eight scored, three conceded, just behind Leicester on the log on goal difference, real question is: Is Everton the real deal this season or it’s just a matter of time before they go back to factory setting?

In their first game away at the Tottenham Stadium, Everton went all out and took Spurs by the throat, when the game was winding down and Spurs were chasing, they stayed in shape and weathered all storms, the win over Westbrom was one with reckless attacks with little left behind, maybe arrogance or they underrated the Baggies but it paid off, against Palace, they employed both tactics, impressive.

Brighton by now would still be hurting from the late Neal Maupay madness that handed Manchester United all the points after laboring so hard and got a late equalizer that looked like the point they deserved, they must do better against a more clinical side if they don’t want to sink to their third defeat in just four games.

Everton are the team to beat right now, they have a game plan that is powered by their energetic midfield but they are slightly weak at the back, Yeri Mina is a bit rash and Tom Keane needs to find consistency, if they ever go under attack from a side with strong quality, they just might crack and then have to chase, Carlo Ancellotti still seems to be in the market for a defender, he has to.

Brighton will depend on Leandro Trossard to trouble Seamus Coleman as he did Wanbissaka last weekend, in a game they hit the frame of the goal a record five times, a little luck would do this time but they can’t afford to take eyes of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert Lewin, joint top scorer with Jamie Vardy, Graham Potter will have to have his men at their best to get something from this.

Verdict: Straight win Everton
