Tottenham Hotspurs close in on Real Madrid star Gareth Bale as they hope to complete a season long loan deal
Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is set to complete his loan move to Tottenham Hotspurs on Friday, according to BBC Sports.
The deal between the London club and Spanish giants is still been worked on.
Reports suggest that there is positive progress and it is almost likely Bale will travel to London on Friday to complete the transfer.
Gareth Bale to Tottenham, here we go! Last details to be sorted about salary [shared with Real Madrid] and Gareth will fly tomorrow to London. He’ll complete medicals and join #THFC - one year loan. Mourinho approved the deal. Reguilon expected for tomorrow too [100% done]. ⚪️— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) September 17, 2020
The Wales star is currently training alone in Madrid with hopes that the negotiations will lead to a move to the Premier League club.
Bale joined Tottenham back in 2007 from Southampton before moving to Real Madrid for a World record fee of £85m back then in 2013. He has won four Champions Leagues and scored over 100 goals for the Spanish giants.
Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnett, told BBC Wales Sport on Wednesday that talks over a move were "slowly progressing".
Barnett said: "Gareth is closer to leaving Madrid than at any time in the last seven years. We are still negotiating. We shall see how it goes."
Spurs boss Jose Mourinho refused to speculate on the discussions saying: "He is a Real Madrid player and I don't comment on players from other clubs. I have to respect that. It's better not to speak.
"I tried to sign him for Real Madrid, which was not possible to do during my time there. But the president followed my instinct and my knowledge and the season I left he brought Gareth to the club. It's not a secret, even Gareth knows that."
