Sheffield vs Brighton
SAT 22 FEB 2020
This on paper at the beginning of the season would have been expected to be a relegation six-pointer, and while it is for Brighton, the Blades can’t relate.
Sheffield are the giant killers this season, sixth and hopeful.
With City’s ban hanging in the air, more of the same from the Blades can mean we’ll have Sheffield in the champions league next season.
What a story this is becoming, last weekend, they came from behind to beat Bournemouth and with a win here they could move to sit joint 4th if it ends all square at Stamford Bridge earlier on Saturday.
Brighton are on a downward spiral, they play total football, give their very all but still not enough.
The Seagulls can’t afford to lose here, they sit just three points above the drop zone and must start getting results if they don’t want to go down.
Man for man it looks even on paper but Sheffield has something going and even history agrees with them.
The Blades have won each of the last three between the two with the only victory in the last five between these two for Brighton came way back on this same ground some 15 years ago.
Brighton has it all to do here, they have to feed the forwards, depending on who is fit to play, be it Neal Maupay or Aaron Connolly, and they might need their 37-year-old Glen Murray.
