Brighton vs Watford
Saturday 08 February 2020
It’s a relegation six-pointer, almost all the teams down and under are in action and the winner here will have an incentive of points cushion over surrounding teams.
It’s a new lease of life for both sides under respective new managers.
Brighton have scored more, conceded lesser and seen the ball more than they ever did at this stage of the season this term than their previous seasons.
Their defenders average more touches in the ongoing season almost twice the numbers recorded in previous seasons, fantastic to say the least.
Watford have won more under Nigel Pearson than they did under Jarvi Garcia and Quique Flores Sanchez.
Both sides look like they won’t be going down this season, a point here and there should get Brighton over the line and their visitors here should be able to work something out with home form where they’ve only lost once since Pearson took over.
On Saturday, Watford will look to physically impress, dominate and bully the Seagulls but it’s more about the press for Graham Potter’s men whose inspiration will come from the strong fight back against Westham at the London stadium.
It will be a cracker to watch as a win for the visitors will get them level on points with their hosts and a win for Brighton will condemn the Hornets to harsh relegation conversations.
Verdict: Both teams to score
Player to watch: Matt Ryan
