Here are some reactions on social media
Horrible injury for Gomes, and seems clear that Son was shown red for that rather than the severity of foul, which was a very typical yellow. But, as I've said 100 times, football's laws are far too tolerant of fouls where there's no intention to play the ball.— Michael Cox (@Zonal_Marking) November 3, 2019
Horrific Gomes and Everton but Son clearly not at fault. As VAR made all the other big decisions for Atkinson you’d have thought they’d have helped him out with that one.— Darren Lewis (@MirrorDarren) November 3, 2019

Aurier should have been the one to get the card.— IZY 💎 (@Izybaby01) November 3, 2019

Difficult situation for me. I don’t think Son is responsible, looks more like Aurier crashing in that causes the injury. Awful situation. Poor Gomes. What are your thoughts? #EVETOT pic.twitter.com/10bjhp3rpx— ~ (@sulltan_1995) November 3, 2019
