Real Madrid to offer £70m plus Gareth Bale to Manchester City for Raheem Sterling
Real Madrid are getting ready to table £70m plus Gareth Bale to Manchester City for the signing of Raheem Sterling.Sky Sports reports that Real Madrid will be sending scouts to watch Sterling play for England next month, against Montenegro and Kosovo, before making a final decision on their offer to City.
Raheem Sterling's representatives had a meeting with Real Madrid's director Jose Angel Sanchez last summer but they could not convince Sterling to move to the Bernabeu.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is aware that Sterling's £150m valuation will keep increasing the longer they stall the move.
Manchester City and Pep Guardiola are not keen on adding Gareth Bale to their squad.
Perez will have to pay close to Neymar's world record fee of £200m for Sterling if Gareth Bale decides to stay at Real.
Raheem Sterling has been open with his interest to play in La Liga and with various news on Monday in Spain that Bale wants to leave La Liga, Perez is hoping a deal could be struck with City involving two of the most popular names in world football.
Reports suggest that Manchester City will do their best to keep Sterling at the Etihad despite the strong interest from Real Madrid.
And Sterling is not expected to ask City to let him leave.
Nevertheless, it is obvious City will have some transfer saga to handle in the coming weeks with Real lurking around.
Raheem Sterling, who has started the season in fine form, scoring seven goals in 10 matches for City, has three years left on his £280,000-a-week contract at Manchester City.
