Congratulations Arsenal fans, Unai Emery is gone

Congratulations Arsenal fans, Unai Emery is gone - There was not a single game you can remember for 100% dominance, no clean sheets, and no real pattern or playing style, Emery was kept for way too long.

Unai Emery, manager of Arsenal gestures during the Premier League match between Arsenal FC and West Ham United at Emirates Stadium on August 25, 2018 in London, United Kingdom.

Some things are easier than folks make them seem, Unai Emery should have been fired after the Europa League final.

For good football sakes, who goes into a cup final as favorite and lose 4-1? And then come out to say you were unlucky with injuries and decisions.

No one that saw that game would remember any funny referee decision.

And speaking of injuries, Aaron Ramsey was blatantly told he doesn’t have a place in Emery’s plans so how on earth was he missed?

The choice of Emery wasn’t contested by most fans, he won Europa three times on the bounce with Sevilla but not many considered his reigns as PSG manager as a failed one.

He couldn’t manage the big boys and was a disaster with games he should have won convincingly.

He led Barcelona in the second leg of the second round UEFA Champions League encounter by a whopping 4-0, at 3-0 down at Camp Nou he got a goal back and managed to still lose the tie.

Blame it on the referee all you care but that can never happen to the poorest of managers elsewhere who know just how to manage games.

Arsenal hired Unai Emery to replace a legend that was in the dugout for 22 fast, furious, exhilarating and odd years, was never meant to be easy but he flattered to deceive with 22 games unbeaten run.

He started off with a 2-0 loss at home to Manchester City, no complains and he forced a great performance even in a 3-2 defeat at Chelsea and then a run that included eleven straight wins which ended at Southampton in November.

From then on, it was a turbulent affair, there was not a single game you can remember for 100% dominance, no clean sheets, and no real pattern or playing style, Emery was kept for way too long.

Emery’s problem started when he mismanaged the Aaron Ramsey situation.

He kept struggling to combine wrong options and results went south, the ongoing season has been straightforward, yet he managed to bottle things with team selection.

You don’t need advanced classes to know you can’t get any result with some certain lineups but Emery would keep fit players on the bench and start struggling ones.

Experiments are allowed but not at the expense of results, Aubameyang and Lacazette should only start together if there are suppliers behind them.

Ozil would be left at home and Emery would start four defensive-minded players, it’s easy to know he’s not the man for the job.

Seven games without a win, the majority from leading positions and his pressers are even worse.

English is not his first language, yet he’d keep screaming “the team is improving” you check stats and results and you wonder what he’s talking about.

Now that he’s gone, Freddie Ljuimberg is expected to lead the boys till a permanent manager is announced.

Congratulations Arsenal fans, the worst is behind and a very “good ebening” to you all.
