Rodrigo initially gave the home side the lead on the 60th minute mark after he connected with a Jose Gaya's low cross to tap in from close range but Valencia could not hold on to the lead as Alba scored the equalizer.

The league leaders maintained their four point lead at the top of the table, while Valencia are still in second place.
