Premier League predictions: The fear of Man City and the quest for survival . Betting tips
It is getting thicker, fiercer and more technical as men are being separated from the boys gradually in the English Premier League, Arsenal once again proved how fragile they are with the capitulation at Watford while Chelsea left everything to be desired by losing at Crystal Palace, a team that hadn’t picked a point nor scored a single goal while shipping uncountable numbers; Chelsea laboured in vain all afternoon at Selhurst, while acknowledging the absence of key individuals, N’golo Kante, Alvaro Morata and Victor Moses were all missing in action but David Luiz returned and Batshuayi took his place upfront all in futility, that loss was followed up by another forgettable outing in the hands of Roma and Edin Dzeko in midweek, 2:0 up and the 3:2 down before Hazard rescued a point at the death. For Arsenal, Everton are up next at Goodison Park, while it can be argued that the Toffees can’t seem to do anything right, it would be much of a silly risk to give the gunners the edge over them, considering how comical they were in their slim win over Red Star Belgrade in Europa. Chelsea are up against the slayers of Arsenal, Watford and still without their engine Kante but had Morata fit for Roma and should be fit for the Hornets too...
Liverpool showed why they are the most confusing team in Europe whe they took on Manchester United at Anfield and then Maribor in midweek, while the bus parking antics of Jose Mourinho prevailed and ended the game without a goal, they rammed seven past their hapless opponents on Tuesday and can now look up to Tottenham with confidence, talking Spurs, after struggling through the odds to dump Bournemouth at Wembley, they showed grit and guts as they took on the champions of Europe fearlessly, getting a valuable point that stood them tall in their group, Liverpool might have to dig deep to negotiate this. Friday night fixture may come too soon for Javier Hernandez and Westham as they host Brighton, the revival is on for the hammers, Brighton would hurt from the late equalizer they suffered against Everton, they would fancy their chances here. Newcastle aren’t here to play, they keep showing that every match day, the point they rescued at Southampton showed why they must be taken seriously, and with the slayers of Chelsea up next, this would be a spectacle, Newcastle wants to climb higher, Palace wants to swim to safety, who wants it more?
Manchester City deserve to be feared now than ever, whatever happened after Stoke scored their second should be examined, studied and packaged for future reference, City went berserk, ramming in goals from all possible angles, Stoke wanted to fight but it was beyond them, now it’s time for Burnley to face the firing squad, remember how resilient Burnley have been? Maybe not this time but the thoughts of KDB and David Silva in the middle of the park bring chills, our thoughts are with Sean Dyche and the lads right now but hey, this is football and it won’t be the first time if it goes the other way, Burnley under Dyche have shocked City before even with their rampaging form. Manchester United have to win, they are two points behind now and Huddersfield are the opponent, Mou won’t leave stones unturned here, he certainly will unleash the most dangerous lad in town on David Wagner. Leicester City fired manager Craig Shakespeare just after four months into his permanent reigns as manager after being caretaker following Ranieri’s sack, Leicester have been poor to say the least, but Leicester hierarchy should not forget where they were before their unprecedented title win, it won’t happen again in a hundred years, Swansea can benefit from this hogwash and overrun them, or the caretaker manager can do a Shakespeare and go on a run that would earn him the job on permanent basis.
