Mesut Ozil: Arsenal can beat Bayern & also win the Premier League [BILD]

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is tipping the gunners to go all the way in the UEFA Champions League and also win the English title.

Speaking to German news outlet BILD, the 26 year old World Cup winner was quick to talk about Arsenal's Premier League chances.

“We have a great team with many world-class players,” Ozil told Bild.

“Our goal is to win the Premier League and I think that this season it’s possible to do it, if we all stay healthy. But the season is long.”

Despite Arsene Wenger’s side’s current league form, it is the Gunners’ results in European competition this season that is the real cause for concern.

Arsenal are currently bottom of group F of the Champions League following two consecutive defeats at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb and Greek side Olympiakos.

To stand any chance of progressing the Reds would need to beat German Giants Bayern Munich who they meet in their next two successive European fixtures.

Despite the daunting task ahead Mesut Ozil also believes that Arsenal could beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League if they replicate their performance against United – despite the German club’s excellent form.

“I didn’t expect them to beat Dortmund 5-1,” admits Ozil. “Their recent results show they are simply in great shape…but our victory against Manchester United was a sign: when we play and want it 100%, then we can beat Bayern.

“We are playing at home. Although we have respect for them, we don’t have any fear. We know how to score goals against Bayern and we can be successful. It will be difficult – but we have the potential to beat any team.”
