Five Star Aguero rip Newcastle to shreds (Match report ) by @Komptrolla
Argentine forward Sergio Kun Aguero faced harsh criticism for a fortnight following his dip in form culminating in Manchester City's Euro and consecutive league losses, but the golden boot holder took to the Etihad stage to reply critics.
After nearly beating champions Chelsea at St. James's park last weekend, Newcastle were expected to give a fight against Manchester City and they were going to until Sergio Aguero changed the script. Aleksandra Mitrovic fired the visitors in front against the run of play and the Toons started dreaming. Some spirited defending and wasteful finish kept the score line at 0:1 until three minutes before the restart; Fernandinho found Aguero in the box and the pinched sized striker equalized to send the game into the break 1:1.
The second half had barely started when Sergio Aguero struck again, just four minutes into the second half, David Silva fed the striker who made no mistake. Two minutes later, Tim Krul was picking the ball from his net again off Aguero's boot having been found by Kevin Debryne. Newcastle labored upfront to stop the rain but they paid dearly on the counter as Jesus Navas found Kevin DeBryne in space for the Belgian's third goal in the EPL.
Not contented with hatrick, Sergio Aguero picked an exquisite pass from David Silva, not for the first time in the game on the hour mark and slot pass Tim Krul. Not done yet, the Argentine made it five with DeBryne's second assist of the evening as the Etihad fans went into delirium.

It soon became a testimonial as City strolled round the pitch with showmanship taking turns, the Citizens moved to the top of the table albeit temporarily as their next door neighbors travel to north London to negotiate Arsenal.
