Arsenal fans blast Oliver Groud after red card vs Dinamo Zagreb [Best Tweets]
It’s safe to assume that Arsenal fans are now even more angry with Arsene Wenger’s decision not to buy another striker during the summer transfer window.
The reason for this is because gunners' fans have this evening taken to social media to slate forward Olivier Giroud after the Frenchman was sent off in the first half during his sides Champions League group F match against Dinao Zagreb in Croatia this evening.
The 28-year-old had already been booked earlier in the first half for shouting at the referee, and with only five minutes of the half remaining the France international inexplicably gave away a needless free kick by tripping up a Zagreb player, which led to the striker receiving his marching orders.
Watch former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand talking about Giroud's performance:
The forward’s performance while he was on the pitch had also left a lot to be desired and after an overall poor half from Olivier Giroud, Arsenal fans took to Twitter to have their say on the matter
Drop Giroud, play Theo upfront. End. #afc— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) September 16, 2015
Giroud is quite simply an idiot. Cost us in so many ways. Playing with 10 will probably have further repercussions. Bad night.— Michael Gooner (@MickTheGooner) September 16, 2015
Arsenal (£200m in bank) failed to find a better player than Arteta or Giroud in the summer. Little bit worrying. #afc— Sam (@samuelJayC) September 16, 2015
Olivier Giroud has scored just 3 goals in his last 15 games across all competitions for Arsenal. Very poor run. pic.twitter.com/HaH5LS1T5n— Squawka Football (@Squawka) September 16, 2015
I think Arsenal needs to refund the away fans for the shite performance. Also Giroud can contribute to that refund.— JENSON ALEX PAIS (@JENSONPAIS) September 16, 2015
It took some gooners 2 years to finally realize Giroud is complete wanker 😏— Lukas (@goonerette9) September 16, 2015
Often I'd say people were scapegoating, but Giroud well and truly cost us that game. Absolutely senseless from him.— Raf (@TheFalseNein) September 16, 2015
