Manchester City vs Barcelona: This one right here is looking interesting and tantalizing.

Barcelona without Messi have been grinding out results but the Argentine star should be back to full fitness before the resumption of the Champions League which will obviously improve Barca's game and Tata Martino will have options.

Meanwhile, Neymar is having a wonderful season. He scored 5 goals in his last 2 matches, the Brazillian star is looking good  and coping with the pace of European football which is not easy when you are playing your first season in Europe in your early 20s.

Based on current form and how Manchester City are improving game after game you don't want to place a bet against the Manchester team.

After Bayern Munich, Manchester City are looking like the most likely team to go all the way... Oh, I forgot they beat Bayern 3-2 in Munich in the last game and they thrash English Premier League leaders, Arsenal 6-3 at the Etihad.

Prediction: Tricky and close to call, but I am tipping Manchester city to go through.

Olympiacos vs Manchester United: In football you have to be lucky to be one of the greatest team, player or coach.

This is the story of Manchester United as they seem to be getting lucky draws in this competition, David Moyes must be thanking his stars for avoiding the top teams.

Prediction: Olympiacos will put up a fight but I will be going with a Manchester United victory over the two legs.


AC Milan vs Atletico Madrid: Tricky tie, Atletico Madrid are currently flying high in Europe and in the Spanish La Liga with Diego Costa in great form.

Diego Simeone has done a great job since taking over at Atletico, they look very solid defensively and break very fast when they are attacking.

Meanwhile, AC Milan are very inconsistent in the Italian Serie A as well as in Europe but they managed to sneak into the knockout phase of the Champions league with a 0-0 draw against Ajax at the San Siro.

Prediction: I am going for a AC Milan qualification as the experience they have in Europe will be vital to see them through, close to call though but AC Milan should go through.

Bayer Leverkusen vs PSG: Easy, PSG obviously will cruise into the next round convincingly...

Bayer Leverkusen will find it hard to cope with the array of talent in the Paris based team.

Prediction: PSG will go through convincingly

Galatasaray vs Chelsea: The reunion Mourinho wanted... Didier Drogba will play against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge since leaving the club.

It will be a very emotional come back for the Ivory Coast star and I am sure Chelsea fans will give him a befitting welcome.

Chelsea are currently inconsistent and Jose is still finding the right balance for his team. We all know it won't take long before he figures it out.

Prediction: Chelsea will go through.

Schalke 04 vs Real Madrid: Another easy tie, Real Madrid will qualify.

Schalke is a decent German side but against a Madrid side led by Cristiano Ronaldo will be too much for them to handle.

Prediction: Real Madrid to go through.

Zenit vs Borussia Dortmund: Borussia Dortmund seems to be struggling a bit this season, but not in the Champions League as they went through the last round topping the 'Group of death'.

Prediction: Borussia Dortmund to go through.

Bayern Munich vs Arsenal: Another unlucky draw for Arsene Wenger's team.

And then people console Arsenal fans by saying 'You have to beat the best team to win the trophy'.

Yes! you have to beat the best team but you do not have to play them this early.

Arsenal should take some blame as they could have tried to get a draw in Naples and finish on top of their group so as to avoid the big boys... Oh well, too late

Bayern Munich on the other hand are still unbeaten in the German Bundesliga after 40 games.

The German club are still the strongest team in Europe and favorite to retain the trophy even as they lost their last group game in the Champions League at home to Manchester City.

Prediction: Arsenal will try, asin they will try... But Bayern Munich will go through.
