Manchester City 2-0 Watford: City strolling to the title? [Match report + highlight]

It was much of a surprise seeing Watford shutting the league leaders out in the first half, not for the lack of efforts, some spirited defending and wasteful finishes kept it at goalless at halftime.

David Silva went close and £49m man was denied by Heurelho Gomes, Valon Behrami set up Odion Ighalo for Watford's best chance but the Nigerian headed wide.

Just after play resumed, Raheem Sterling registered his first goal for Manchester City at the Etihad, latching on to a fine David Silva lay off to beat Gomes at close range, he wheeled away in wild celebration, a timely goal ahead of England's coming games.

City weren't done, Fernandinho hammered home from the far right after some magical Yaya Toure foot works, City changed gear and it was unexplainable how the scores stood at 2:0.
