Premier League UCL woes: Only Arsenal & Liverpool reach quarters; City, Chelsea, Newcastle, Spurs crash out. Concern for English clubs.

Champions League: Is the Premier League overrated?
Arne Slot's Liverpool and Mikel Arteta's Arsenal are the only two English clubs left in the Champions League. Is there a reason for Premier League fans to be worried?

Six English teams made it to the Champions League round of 16, but only two of them will feature in the last 8 of the competition.

Arsenal beat Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday to win 3-1 on aggregate. Liverpool overturned a 1-0 loss at Istanbul to win the tie against Galatasaray 4-1 on aggregate. Is there a genuine concern for Premier League clubs?

Newcastle United lost 7-2 at the Nou Camp on Wednesday. The game was tied at 2-2 going into the final minute of the first half before Kieran Trippier fouled Lewandowski in the Newcastle area. Newcastle didn't recover from the incident, as they went on to be hammered by the Spanish champions.

Next up, you look at Chelsea. The Blues lost 8-2 on aggregate to PSG after a 3-0 home loss on Tuesday. Chelsea left a lot to be desired in their approach and performances, and you wonder what becomes of Liam Rosenior following this horrendous outing.

Manchester City didn't do any better. It's tough to get Real Madrid into the Champions League draw every year. Many expected Manchester City to beat the Los Blancos this time, but it wasn't to be, as the Spanish giants won both legs.

Pep Guardiola and Manchester City have a date with Arsenal at Wembley on Sunday. The Carabao Cup is now City's clearest chance of silverware this season. If they don't beat Arsenal on Sunday, is that the end of Pep Guardiola at the Etihad?

Tottenham was ruled out of the running even before the first leg. Spurs has a huge relegation battle to face in the Premier League; the distraction of Europe wasn't what Spurs needed. The tie against Atletico Madrid was decided at the Metropolitan.

Spurs gave a great account on Wednesday with a 3-2 home win. Igor Tudor has finally tasted victory in his sixth attempt. Can Spurs take the Wednesday win into their relegation fight? With four of six teams out of Europe, is the Premier League overrated?

Aston Villa has a chance to impress in the Europa League on Thursday. Nottingham Forest lost their first leg at home, while Crystal Palace is off to Cyprus with the game delicately poised. Will there be more English teams in Europe after Thursday night?
