Brentford and Manchester United aren’t dissimilar in mood, with both sides needing points to cheer fans; however, the pressure is more on the Red Devils than the Bees considering investments in respective squads.

Manchester United beat Chelsea to move up the ladder, but they wouldn’t be flattered by the result considering what could have been had Robert Sanchez not handed them a lifeline with a red card as early as the fourth minute.

Brentford’s season hasn’t taken off brightly. Their latest result, a 3-1 reverse at Fulham, left them bleeding as they currently sit in 17th on the log and need points to steer clear of the drop zone. The Bees remain hot on the cards for relegation; they must start picking up points if they don’t want to go down.

You can understand why Brentford is struggling. They lost 39 goals in Bryan Mbeumo and Yoan Wissa, as well as their manager Thomas Frank who engineered wins against Manchester United in the past.Frank, Keith Andrews is the man now; does he have what it takes to make it happen?

It would be exciting to see Mbeumo back in front of the G-Tech Stadium fans. Keith Andrews has asked the fans to give him a warm welcome considering his contribution to the club in the past. Boos and cheers are expected; we wait to see how that plays out.

Brentford has averaged 1.2 points at home, while United has averaged 0.67 points away from home, leaving us wondering if this could end in a draw if they cancel each other out. If there’s one game in which the Red Devils should dominate, it is this one.

Ruben Amorim is yet to win back-to-back games in charge at Manchester United; this is his opportunity to get that one behind him with Brentford struggling. However, the Bees stung Chelsea late on to earn a 2-2 draw on this ground not too long ago.

Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha could get off the mark in this one, while Kevin Schade remains the preferred option to start for the hosts. Django Outtara is having to bide his time, with Igor Tiago also preferred alongside Schade.

Long throws and set pieces could be a tool for the hosts; Manchester United must be wary of that. Bruno Fernandes has created more chances this season than anyone else in the league; he will have room to create against Brentford. Will United forwards take advantage?

Verdict: United to win.
