Tottenham’s victory in the Europa League final over Manchester United is the hot topic in the world of football, but it’s not the only one; as leagues wind down this weekend, we take a look at important topics across the beautiful game.

Should Manchester United keep or dump Amorim?

In the real sense of it, everything United berated Erik Ten Hag for, Ruben Amorim has done worse, and no one is talking about firing him. How strange?

They need stability in the dugout, and this question isn’t necessarily calling for his sack, but has he improved the club in any way? Nine points gathered in the league since December – is that good enough? Has any player improved under him to warrant the belief of trusting him with investments?

The Scudetto goes down to the wire on Friday night.

The Italian Serie A will be decided on Friday night as Inter Milan and Napoli go head-to-head in separate fixtures to determine the winner of the title this season.

With only one point separating them, Antonio Conte’s side is home to Cagliari, while Champions League finalists Inter Milan are away to high-flying Como. Is this to say congratulations to Napoli? Will there be drama like we had in game week 37 where they both drew when they needed a win?

Luka Modric to finally take a bow.

Real Madrid has announced that Luka Modric will leave the club after the Club World Cup in the summer; did anyone say “whew”?

The former Tottenham star has won everything there is to win with Real Madrid, even the FIFA Best Award for his heroics in 2018. This leaves Real Madrid looking for a new leader, a new mercurial figure in the midfield, and will the Croatian get a statue at the Bernabeu?

Who can afford Wirtz?

Manchester City seems to have backed out of the chase for Bayer Leverkusen creative attacker Florian Wirtz, with word on the street pointing towards Bayern Munich as his destination. But is there anyone else who can afford the deal?

The German sensation will come expensive, with Manchester City looking to rebuild without touching on PSR regulations. Liverpool could be in line to land him, but this could impact other positions. Does this open the door for a seamless move to Bayern?

Manchester United turns to Mateta.

Losing the Europa League final did more damage to Manchester United than they know, as they’re now considering Plan Cs as opposed to the top shots they had in mind with Champions League football in sight.

Tabloids are reporting that United may lose out on Cunha, who had agreed to a deal, as they don’t have European football to offer him, and their chase for Viktor Gyorkeres may have now cooled. So, is Jean Philippe Mateta a bad idea?
