Manchester United only has pride to play for in this fixture; the Red Devils currently sit in 15th place on the Premier League log, and the visit of Arsenal to the Old Trafford Stadium could make things worse.

Is this the worst Manchester United side in the Premier League era? Is Ruben Amorim the right man for the job? Are they on the right track? Can they turn things around and go on a monstrous run that sets them up for a greater next season?

Arsenal’s title pursuit is as good as over. The Gunners are now sixteen points off the pace after Liverpool beat Southampton on Saturday. While the Gunners have two games in hand, the race is almost done, but they cannot afford to lose here.

The Gunners hammered PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands last Tuesday; it was a strong performance that swept aside all the talks of a goal-scoring problem, seven goals past PSV. Should Manchester United be worried? Will Arsenal score lots of goals again?

The striker problem at Arsenal cannot be ignored simply because they were able to find the net seven times at PSV; a combination of a few things helped in that regard, from PSV’s hapless defending to some precise finishing, but can the Gunners sustain it?

United laboured to a 1-1 draw away at Real Sociedad on Thursday. This means they must win at home to qualify for the last eight of the Europa League. They would keep an eye on that fixture as they entertain the Gunners, but they will also keep an eye on their pride, which is on the line.

Arsenal is still without the quartet of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus, with the former two back on the grass; Myles Lewis-Skelly is back and available again after serving his one-match ban and could start at left back again for the Gunners.

Manuel Ugarte is a doubt for this one as he is carrying a knock, but the Uruguayan will be assessed ahead of kickoff while Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire will face late fitness tests. Patrick Dorgu will serve the second of his three-match ban on Sunday.

United must stay compact in midfield; it is left to be seen if the Red Devils will start Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund. They both need to level up with youngster Chido Obi in their shadows and would be looking to shine against his former side.

Where will the goals come from for Arsenal? It came from everywhere at PSV however, United will not open up like the Dutch side. Ethan Nwaneri is one to watch while Gabriel and William Saliba could have a say from set pieces again.

Verdict: Arsenal to win.
