At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, Arne Slot's machine continued to make huge strides, underscoring Liverpool's title credentials.

Away from the Machiavellian style of Jurgen Klopp, Slot has built confidence into the Liverpool army; now they believe they can beat anyone and everyone, with Sunday’s 6-3 thrashing of Tottenham a testament to their prowess.

It was always going to be a long night for the hosts: no Christian Romero, no Micky Van De Ven, and no Destiny Udogie. Djed Spence replaced the latter in what was his first start in the league for the North Londoners, and youngster Archie Grey returned in half of the defence.

It didn’t take long for Liverpool to stamp their authority on the game; Trent Alexander Arnold sent a diagonal cross into the Spurs area, and it was met by the head of Luis Diaz, who beat Fraizer Forster with a clean header for his first league goal since early October.

Last season, Luis Dias had a goal wrongly disallowed in this fixture; however, he managed to score, setting the tone for a wonderful night in the wind of North London. Alexis Mac Allister rose the highest to head home a loose ball in the Spurs box to make it 2-0 with Mohammed Salah firing long not wide after.

Spurs got one back to make the score a fairly one; James Maddison beat Alison from the edge of the Liverpool box, but with the last kick of the first half, Salah put Dominic Szoboszlai through on goal, and the Hungarian slotted it past Forster easily.

Mo Salah scored twice in the second half to make it 5-1; despite Dejan Kulusevski helping Spurs to a 5-3 lead, Liverpool ended the Spurs challenge with a sixth goal when Salah set up Luis Diaz for a straightforward finish late on.

"You know what? I'm just going to stop answering these questions," the Spurs boss told BBC Sport. "If people can't see the obvious, I'm not going to point it out. Look, make of it what you want; yes, we're conceding goals.

"If you want to discount the fact we're missing a goalkeeper, two centre-backs, and a left-back as well, and that hasn't coincided with what we're doing... I don't know what to say anymore. I believe that individuals form their own opinions. They either think what I'm doing is good or they don't, and that's fine."
