Manchester City stuttered again, and Arsenal fired past Monaco; we take a look at buzzing headlines from the Champions League and other headlines from the world of football.

Saudi Arabia will host the 2034 World Cup.

The strategic moves of the oil-rich nation of Saudi Arabia have finally yielded dividends, as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was proclaimed host of the 2034 World Cup.

Six nations, including the flagship trio of Morocco, Portugal, and Spain, will host the 2030 edition, while three additional South American nations will host one-off games similar to those in the 2026 edition. Interesting stuff.

Manchester City hits a new low after the Juventus defeat.

Manchester City fell to Juventus at the Turin Stadium, knocking the Premier League champions completely out of contention for a potential top 8 finish.

Dusan Vlahovic returned from injury to shoot the hosts in front early in the second half, and the duo of Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah combined to score the second to finish the game 2-0. Where does Manchester City go from here?

Ashworth has been sacked by United; is he heading to Arsenal?

Following the announcement that Manchester United had parted ways with their new director of football, media reports suggested that the former Newcastle player might be heading to Arsenal.

A few weeks ago, Edu Gasper left Arsenal to rejoin Marinakis Group, creating a void in the hierarchy. Will Arsenal consider Ashworth, who faced dismissal at Old Trafford due to his differing ideas? Is he what the Gunners need?

Arsenal defeats Monaco to boost their chances in the top 8.

Star Boy Bukayo Saka scored twice, but Kai Havertz blocked his third attempt as Arsenal defeated them 3-0 to take the top spot on the log.

Only Liverpool secures a spot in the next round, while Juventus, PSG, and Manchester City face the possibility of elimination. Arsenal’s surge could mean well for them in the league as they continue to chase Liverpool.

United must wake up in Europe.

After the shock loss at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, the Red Devils must beat Victoria Plzen in order to stand a chance of avoiding extra fixtures in February.

United currently sits in 12th spot on the log, four places off the top 8 and automatic qualification. With few players returning from injury, Ruben Amorim must find the right formula to propel United over the finish line and avoid the Erik Ten Hag ditch.
