We are back today with exciting transfer news, as the new football season officially begins this weekend in major leagues. Here are the headlines for today.

Liverpool enters the Zubimendi race.

Liverpool remains the only club in the Premier League to remain as they were at the end of last season with no new addition, but that is about to change with the Reds preparing a bid for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

The Spaniard has a release clause thought to be around €60 million, one the club cannot refuse, but it is left to be seen if the pocket-sized midfielder will like to move after his camp was reported to have rebuffed a move for the player by Arsenal, stating his desire to stay in Spain for another season.

Liverpool's Zubimendi pursuit doesn't harm Arsenal's Merino deal.

With Liverpool close to a deal with La Roja midfielder Zubimendi, Arsenal fans must be wondering what will become of their interest in Mikel Merino, whom the Gunners recently agreed terms with.

Sociedad understands that the midfielder has only 12 months left on his contract and will not be signing a new deal. Accepting €30 million from Arsenal looks like a bargain, and the deal is expected to advance towards the weekend; there is nothing to worry about there.

Koopmeiners blanks Atalanta for Juve move

Atalanta manager Gasperini has confirmed that Dutch winger Teun Koopmeiners has refused to train as he wants to join Juventus this summer.

Everything was going according to plan with the winger set to return for new season preparations, but, with Juventus hinting at his interest, the Dutchman has told the Europa League winners that he wants to move, and the manager has now left him out of the squad to face Real Madrid in the Super Cup.

Marco Reus has joined the LA Galaxy.

Former Borussia Dortmund playmaker Marco Reus has completed his move to Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy on a one-year deal with an option of another year.

The German feels ready for the new adventure after the Champions League finalists refused to extend his contract. He will now focus on the MLS side, having also retired from the German national team. It’s a new lease of life for the Black and Yellow Legend.

Lucas Digne denies Galatasaray's agreements.

A leading journalist revealed contract papers between Aston Villa and Galatasaray for left-back Lucas Digne on Tuesday, but the French defender has denied the reports, with Villa backing their player for another season.

Reports had suggested that both clubs had already agreed on the deal, but they refuted this, putting the journalist under the bus and confirming that the player is negotiating new contracts at Villa Park with no plans to leave.
