With the football season just around the corner, teams are struggling to get their squads ready for competitive participation. We look at the buzzing news making headlines across different leagues.

Dani Olmo agrees to Barcelona’s terms.

It’s the worst kept secret that Barcelona is broke and can hardly pay salaries, but they’re always sticking their noses into every transfer out there, and they have just agreed with Spanish playmaker Dani Olmo in a deal that could be worth up to €62 million, including add-ons.

The Catalan giants will pay a €55 million fixed fee and the rest over a few clauses, and you wonder where this leaves their chase for Atletico Bilbao winger Nico Williams. If Hansi Flick's side manages to get this over the line, it might signal the end of a potential bid for Williams.

Tottenham Eyes Move for Solanke

AFC Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke is on the wish list of Tottenham Hotspur, with Ange Postecoglou’s side preparing a bid for the former Liverpool and Chelsea target man.

Solanke scored over 20 goals in all competitions for the Cherries last season, planting him among the league’s top scorers, and that makes it a tough deal to do as he’s quite important to Bournemouth. The bid should land before the end of the weekend.

Karim Adeyemi’s move to Juventus is in jeopardy.

Borussia Dortmund is primed to keep their winger Karim Adeyemi for at least another season, despite Juventus lurking around the Nigerian-born German star.

The Old Lady is yet to drop a bid for the versatile winger, but it is the worst-kept secret that they want him in Italy. However, Borussia Dortmund does not want to sell him until a substantial bid arrives. With Juventus struggling to ship out Federico Chiesa, the Adeyemi move can be considered off.

Eddy Nketiah is leaving Arsenal for Marseille?

Former England youth prodigy Eddy Nketiah has agreed to personal terms with Olympique Marseille for a permanent transfer from Arsenal.

Hale End graduate Nketiah is pushing for the move despite Marseille being far from what Arsenal wants for the striker, who weighed in with five league goals last season. If all goes well, Nketiah will depart Arsenal in the coming days, freeing up space for a potential replacement.

Shakespeare leaves planet Earth for the other side.

Not your regular transfer news but former Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare has sadly passed away at the age of 60, a statement from his family read on Thursday.

The British manager took over as caretaker manager after Claudio Ranieri was sacked in February 2017. He became the first English manager to win his first four games but was eventually sacked the following season after a run of bad results. Rest in peace, big Craig.
