Wolves impressive 3-0 victory over Liverpool boosts their hopes of avoiding relegation, Lopetegui's leadership key to success.

Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui has been making waves since he was appointed at the beginning of November, taking the team off the bottom of the table and out of the relegation zone.

In the recent match against Liverpool, the team showed energy and confidence, proving they have what it takes to stay clear of trouble.

Wolves dominated the game, with Hwang Hee-chan's cross deflecting off Joel Matip into the Liverpool net just five minutes in.

Craig Dawson marked his debut for Wolves with a goal just seven minutes later, taking advantage of poor defending by Liverpool.

The first half was a struggle for Liverpool, with just one shot on target, but they came out stronger after the break.

However, Wolves were able to hold them off and hit them on the counter-attack, with Ruben Neves finishing off great work by Adama Traore.

Despite the win, Lopetegui remains grounded, stating that his team "haven't done anything yet" and still have "hard work ahead of them".

He stressed the importance of being close to perfect against top teams and how crucial it is to score quickly.

On the other hand, Liverpool's season has been nothing short of a disappointment.

Wolves started the day 21 points off the top of the table and have yet to taste victory in the Premier League this year.

The Reds showed promise with a solid draw against Chelsea in their last league outing, but their performance in the first half of the Wolves game was lethargic.

Wolves' win moves them out of the relegation zone and up to 15th, while Liverpool remain in 10th.

With games against relegation rivals Southampton and Bournemouth up next, this win gives Wolves a huge opportunity to pull clear of trouble.

Liverpool, on the other hand, is still searching for their first win of the year and will need to step up their game if they want to climb back up the standings.
