It is a huge opportunity for Manchester United to go level on points with Manchester City in second and once again, gatecrash the title race despite Arsenal’s five points advantage.

United was the only top side to win over the weekend albeit in difficult fashion after Casemiro was sent off for a fierce manhandling of Palace midfielder Will Hughes.

The Brazilian will miss three games and it coincides with a time Scott man Scott McTominay is out injured.

Leeds United fired coach Jesse Marsche earlier in the week after a troubling run of form and will engage United at Old Trafford with assistant managers while the club hierarchy has effectively ruled out a return for Marcelo Bielsa or fellow Argentine Mauricio Pochettino.

Leeds United currently sit above the relegation zone only on goal difference and could as high as 14th on the log if they can manage to beat Manchester United.

it’s unprecedented but it’s not impossible, especially with bottom club Everton beating Arsenal on Saturday.

How will Leeds United line up?

It’s hard to tell with the makeshift coaching staff taking charge of the team but Leeds will compete and if the new manager bounce comes into play, the Red Devils might work harder than normal to get a result.

It’s United’s to lose in all honesty, but football can be fun as we’ve always seen in the premier league.

Wout Weghorst will lead the line and fans will hope to see Jadon Sancho at some point, especially with Anthony Martial out again.

United has a great record against Leeds United.

Bruno Fernandes particularly enjoys this opponent and if his recent form is anything to go by, he could be the X-Factor that will get United over the line as they try to climb the ladder.

Watch out for in-form Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho, Antony is injured, and the young Argentine is expected to come in for him.

United will be the favourite to win and Leeds could be reckless with tackles which would earn them more bookings than the hosts.

Verdict: Straight win United
