Arsenal continues to lead the premier league table but the coming days would shape a lot, especially with Manchester City and Arsenal going head to head in midweek at the Emirates.

The North Londoners suffered a shock loss at Everton last weekend.

A James Tarkowski header on the hour mark helped Sean Dyches to a great start, but Arsenal didn’t have to pay for their poor showing with the champions also losing at Spurs.

Brentford has won more points this year than any other team in the Premier League this calendar year, and a trip to Arsenal must be something Thomas Frank and his incredible team look forward to with high optimism considering the mixed story of last season.

The Bees beat Arsenal on the opening day of last season but lost at the Emirates later in the season.

And Arsenal remains the only team to have gone to the Brentford Community Stadium and earned maximum points without conceding a single goal.

The Gunners know what they have to do, and Emirates Stadium has given them a sense of comfort that has helped them win all but one of their home games this season.

The goalless draw against Newcastle at the beginning of January was the only game in which they lost points.

How will Brentford line up?

Thomas Frank was full of praise for Arsenal in his pre-match presser and was quick to establish that it will take everything in the loins of the Bees to earn anything at the Emirates, but be sure they will compete.

Ivan Toney is one to watch out for, as is the defence that has kept the team in the top ten all season, but will they be able to stop Arsenal, which seems to be wounded after dropping points at Goodison Park last weekend?

Will Leandro Trossard come in for Gabriel Martinelli, or will Mikel Arteta stick with the same team as always?

Gabriel Jesus is back running and training, but he won't be back on the field until the end of the month, so Eddie Nketiah will continue up front, and when GJ returns, Arteta will be dealing with headaches.

Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard are the other Arsenal players to watch out for, and should Brentford want points from the game, they must breach the solid defence that has William Saliba and Gabriel Meghaeles to deal with.

Watch out for the inverted runs of Alex Zinchenko, too.

Verdict: Straight win Arsenal
