Manchester United labored to earn a point against Chelsea in the Premier League last season but it was a precious point that showed how far they have come under their new manager Eric Ten Hag.

Their midweek win the Europa League also proved points but the show boating from Brazilian winger Anthony overshadowed the result despite the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo got on the score sheet on his return after a one-match ban.

Westham will go above Liverpool in 9th place with a win over Manchester United and that is enough motivation for the Hammers to go all out against the Red Devils on Sunday. Jarrod Bowen’s fitness is a concern and fans would wait for team sheet to find out if he’s fit or not.

The Hammers won in midweek to confirm their group win in the Europa Conference League and that should inspire them to a win on Sunday. It’s a United derby and both sides should give strong accounts of themselves.

Anthony would be under the spotlight but a winger should be allowed to express himself. For a player that didn’t go through any academy, his style cannot be criticized. He must have been advised but showboating can also entertain fans that paid to see their stars.

How will they line up? Manchester United must win this game and that means they cannot sit back and defend. They have to take initiative and take the battle to the visitors; it took a late goal from Jesse Lingard to seal a win last season for the hosts after a penalty miss by Mark Noble.

Westham will start Gianlucca Scamacca upfront and the fitness of Bowen will have a part to play in how they set up. Can Westham earn a win here to announce their revival or will they limp to a defeat and allow United to use them as a springboard for a top-four push?

Watch out for Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes, the latter hasn’t really sparked this season and he has been heavily criticized for it. The Hammers will like to stoop to conquer but will the hosts fall their well-documented deceit?

Verdict: Both teams to score
