A lot is happening around the world, from World Cup qualifiers across continents to lowkey transfers as well as awards from leagues, we look at a few of them...

Nigeria must beat Liberia away

The loss at home to Cape Verde has ultimately meant Nigeria’s qualification for the World Cup 2022 would be put on hold at least till the final round of games and only a win away at Liberia would redeem the pride of the Super Eagles.

Although Gernot Rorh’s side went to Cape Verde and returned the favors, it isn’t enough as at now as they would need Central Africa Republic to do them favors in the other game on Saturday, permutations always come in when it involves the Super Eagles.

Dani Alves returns to Barcelona

Brazil legend Dani Alves has completed a shock move back to Barcelona after he got the nod from new manager Xavi Hernandez whom he play with at the club before moving away in 2015.

Xavi needs as much experience as he can get and he has turned to the most decorated footballer on the planet; Alves has always wanted to return, Ronald Koeman didn’t oblige him but he has now found answers with his former teammate, although he won’t play until January.

Scotland through to playoffs, Italy must wait

Italy were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Switzerland and could have gone to win the match and book their place at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar but Jorginho blazed over from six yards.

Scotland beat Moldova 2-0 to ensure a place at the playoffs while Harry Kane scored a first half hatrick to help England past a hapless Albania. Poland also won away at Andorra to ensure the group goes down to the wire.

Mo Salah wins player of the month

That goal against Manchester City, that goal against Watford and of course the hatrick at Old Trafford, five goals in four games, Mohammed Salah is the Premier League player of the month for October and you can’t even fault that.

Thomas Tuchel of Chelsea saw his team win four in four and they scored 14 times in the month of October although Norwich City accounted for half of that, hence the German Shepherd is the manager of the month
