Outstanding Scotland hold England at Wembley as the two arch-rivals played a 0-0 draw in a touch Euro 20202 group match.
John Stones' header against the post from a corner was the closest England came to scoring.
England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford pulled off a good save to stop Stephen O'Donnell from scoring from a fine low shot by the Scotland defender.
Mason Mount should have done better but the Chelsea midfielder could not sort his feet before firing wide from a Sterling pass.
England are on course to qualify for the last 16.
It will come down to the final round of games in Group D, with England and the Czech Republic tied on points after a 1-1 draw with Croatia earlier on Friday.
On Tuesday, Gareth Southgate's side will face the Czech Republic at Wembley, while Scotland will face Croatia, who have one point, at Hampden Park.
