Just three months after leading the capital side to her first ever champions league final against Bayern Munich, PSG boss, Thomas Tuchel is under fire and has just two games to save his job

PSG led Monaco 2-0 on Friday only to concede three second half goals to lose 3-2 away from home in what was their third loss in eleven games in the French Lique 1 and considering how poor they have been in the champions league, the game against RB Leipzig is a must win.

Several sources are reporting that the former Borussia Dortmund manager has the home game against German side, RB Leipzig and the away game at Old Trafford against Manchester United to salvage his PSG career, ultimately meaning he must pick at least four points from the two games.

PSG have the material to do wonders not just domestically but also in Europe; they walked their way to the finals last summer and were unlucky to narrowly lose 1-0 to the Bavarians, one would have thought they would put all the final defeat energy into the new season but they have struggled instead.

Beyond the questions around the managerial position, PSG are in danger of dropping into the Europa league or missing out of Europe altogether having gathered just three points out of a possible nine, it’s down to the wire if they don’t beat Leipzig in Paris to edge the German side.

Having hit their all-time high in August, it would be a fall from grace for them to fail to qualify from the group for the first time since the QSI era.

Domestically, PSG have lost more than the trio of Lille, Lyon and Lens, sitting on top of the league with 24points but Marseille can draw level if they win their two outstanding games and besides, a host of teams are breathing down the Parc Des Princes’ neck.

To be fair to Tuchel, illnesses and injuries have conspired to hurt him but there’s no excuse tenable for their grave performances especially in Europe where they have underperformed; he has decided to play Neymar despite his fitness issues.

“We need him. It’s absolutely necessary that he plays,” he told the press. “He has the confidence, the quality and the experience. He is a key player for his team.

“He’s not in the best physical state, but he will start tomorrow. He can physically and mentally handle this kind of match.

“I hope that it’s not too much for him and that we will help him. We must work for him. He is not alone.”
