Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes sign for Everton from Barcelona

Everton were part of the winners of Thursday's deadline day as they completed the signing of Barcelona duo of Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes.

The Goodison Park club appointed Marco Silva as their new coach as they continue their rebuilding process after struggling early on in the Premiership last season.

The appointment of Marco Silva is proven to be a masterstroke as most of their targets have said he influenced their decision to sign for the club.

Everton announced the signing of Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes, and Bernard yesterday before the close of the window in England.

Yerry Mina signed a five-year contract with the club from Barcelona for a reported 30.25 million euros plus 1.5 million euros in variables while Andre Gomes joined on a season-long loan.

Andre Gomes said one of the major reasons he signed for Everton was Marcos Silva.

“I’m delighted to sign for this fantastic club - it’s a good day for me,” said Gomes.

“Everton always was a big option for me, especially after speaking with the coach, Marco Silva.

“Every discussion we’ve had was very important in making me feel his confidence about my game.

“Everybody in Portugal knows how Marco Silva works and his abilities as a coach.

“For me, it was really good to speak to him because I know how good he is and I feel motivated to work with him and to play for Everton, a great club.”

Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina joins Lucas Digne as new Everton players that was signed from Barcelona.

Everton also completed the signing of Bernard from Shakhtar Donetsk on a free transfer.

The Brazil star signed a four-year deal with Everton, after putting pen to paper, the 25-year old also spoke highly about Everton coach Marcos Silva.

“I chose Everton because of all the things I had heard about Marco Silva and after speaking to him I was happy with what he said to me,” Bernard told evertontv.

“The manager made me feel confident about playing here. He is a very good coach and he has achieved really good things at other clubs.

“Everton is a club with a great structure and a lot of tradition, historically the fourth most successful club in England. When I found out about this opportunity and what the manager wanted out of me I was happy.

“That is why I made my choice, because of the confidence both the manager and the Club showed in me.

“I did not need any convincing to come here. I believe I will be able to show my best as a player here."

It's obvious Marcos Silva have a way to charm his players, the Toffees fan would hope this can translate to great performances on the pitch.
