Jose Mourinho: I want Diego Costa in my team

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he wants to sign Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.

The Spanish Striker dropped a strong hint before the World Cup that he would be heading to Stamford Bridge - where he has already completed a medical ahead of a £35m move, saying: "Am I going to Chelsea? It looks like it."

Mourinho told Marca: “[He] is a footballer that I want to have in my team. I have asked my club to bring him to us and I have full confidence that we will achieve this and he will finally join Chelsea.”

The Chelsea boss also spoke about Ramires, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Mourinho: “Ramires stays at Chelsea, he will not be sold. I have a great friendship with important people at Real Madrid and they know that Ramires is staying at Chelsea.”

He also intimated at some sort of pact with Real Madrid which means there is unlikely to be any transfers between the west London side and Los Blancos.

Mourinho: “They know that Ramires does not go, but they also know that I am not interested in any player of Real Madrid. Varane and Khedira? I Repeat that I do not care for any Madrid player, this matter is over.”

Finally, Mourinho also spoke about Thibaut Courtois, the Belgian goalkeeper who has been on loan at Atletico Madrid from Chelsea for the last three seasons.

“At the end of the World Cup, Thibaut Courtois will return to Chelsea. Direct,” said Mourinho, intimating the Belgium number one may be playing at Stamford Bridge permanently in 2014/2015.
