Johan Cabaye plays down French expectations ahead of Nigeria Clash
France midfielder Johan Cabaye spoke to the press about their chances at the World Cup ahead of their quarter final clash against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Le blues have been in fine form in this tournament and they are already tipped as favorites to win the World Cup.
Speaking to the press, the Newcastle midfielder played down French expectations and warned his teammates of over-overconfidence.
"I think being ambitious is absolutely fine, that is why we are here. But I think it is a bit too much to say we have to win the world cup." Said the Newcastle midfielder
"Monday we will pay to qualify for the next round, so will Nigeria. It is pass or fail."
"Our goal is to carry on of course, we always want to win."
"But even with out current collective spirit and determination we might still play against a team that is strong that us and at that point we need to accept that we will be out of the competition." Concluded Cabaye
